Jake is an award winning journalist who is pursuing his passion for journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder.

As a journalist, Jake has been published for his high school newspaper, high school broadcast program, the Aurora Sentinel. In his time at CU Boulder, Jake has been involved with the student publications including the CU Independent, and SkoBuffSports.

His work has been recognized by the Colorado Student Media Association, where he is a five-time state winner in journalism. He led his high school broadcast program to becoming one of the premier programs in the nation during his three years as editor-in-chief.

Jake was most recently recognized as the 2025 National Scholastic Press Association and Journalism Education Association Colorado High School Student Journalist of the Year.

Outside of journalism, Jake loves sports, photography and writing. He won his high-school's talent show his senior year, Mr. Grandview, and was recognized as the 2025 Renaissance Student for his dedication to journalism and creativity.
